Oh no! Not another blog about Meghan Trainor. Hehehe. Well, partly! I should have written this two weeks ago, but I was busy leaving my job and then slipped into a lazy holiday week.

About two months ago, on “On Air with Ryan Seacrest,” Charlie Puth mentioned that he wrote a sex song. lol. Maybe I wasn’t paying close attention, but I’m pretty sure that’s what he said. Then about two weeks ago, I was in a taxi with my friend after our badminton session, and the song came on the radio. I must have heard it somewhere before, but I had forgotten about it. This time, I pulled out my Xperia phone and used the TrackID app to figure out what it was. Tada! I got the name of the song and the artist. When I got home, I looked it up on YouTube and found the official music video.

Now, I didn’t know who Charlie Puth was, but I definitely knew Meghan Trainor (well, not personally). My first impression of the song was that it reminded me of a scene from The Man from U.N.C.L.E. If you haven’t seen the movie yet, watch it ASAP! The scene was both funny and sexy. (Warning: the video below might spoil a part of the movie, but they’re speaking Russian so you probably won’t know what they’re saying unless you understand Russian or have already seen it.)

Don’t you just love Armie Hammer?! hehe. Okay, back to the topic. I like everything about the song Marvin Gaye, especially the lyrics. It’s sexy but also cute. “Let’s Marvin Gaye and get it on” sounds like a cheesy pickup line, doesn’t it? And yet, even as a non-native English speaker, I understood it instantly without having to google it. I don’t even listen to Marvin Gaye’s songs! Funny enough, my friend who spent a year in Europe didn’t get it either.

Hearing Charlie sing this with Meghan makes it even sexier, like a playful duet between a man and a woman who just want to “get it on.” hehe.
