Favorite New Year Quote

Favorite New Year Quote

I just realized this post has been sitting in my drafts since January 2018. I guess it’s finally time to publish it. I’ve been away from my website for quite a while, but now I’m back. I’ll share some proper updates later this week.

This has been my favorite New Year quote ever since the movie New Year’s Eve came out in 2011:

“Before celebrate the new year, stop and reflect on the year that has gone by. To remember both our triumphs and our missteps, our promises made and broken. The times we opened ourselves up to great adventures or closed ourselves down for fear of getting hurt. Because that’s what new year is all about — getting another chance. A chance to forgive, to do better, to do more, to give more, to love more. And stop worrying about ‘what if’ and start embracing what will be. So at midnight, let’s remember to be nice to each other, kind to each other. And not just tonight but all year long.” – New Year’s Eve

This was my favorite scene in the movie. The moment when Lea Michele sang “Auld Lang Syne” was especially touching. I still get emotional watching it.

I’ve made it a tradition to watch this movie every year on New Year’s Eve. Some things just never get old.
